We’re taking pre-orders for the DVD in our store – top right of this page – for the Toastmasters event coming up in February. We also are selling the Toastmasters promotional DVD as well, the perfect answer to “What is Toastmasters?” and an excellent promotional tool to your club!

Please leave in the comments section – the competition seemed especially tight this year. I thought our SpeakEasy cast member Robert Mackenzie was phenomenal. We’d actually seen that speech at the regionals in 2008 and I remember being pretty blown away by it. Great speaker, great guy.

Any other reports from this year’s contest?

Watched the re-edit last night. We cut the film from 103 minutes to about 91 at the moment. Reworked the credit sequnce, re-arranged a few things we’d been putting off for awhile… and now, yeah, this sucker is cleaned up and ready for action.

Thanks PayPal for giving me a heart attack and stressing me out because a customer service representative forgot to make our account eligible for payments. VERY disappointing, but we’re back up and kicking.

Hey all we’re kinda gathering ourselves today after the big convention. This was our 4th in a row. Good times. Wow. I went to the dinner dance in 2007 as we scouted for the film and didn’t know a soul. Now I’m walking around the convention floor without enough time to chat with all the friends we made on this journey. Astounding. No possible way everyone could’ve been nicer to us (except for the gentlemen who was very upset about the running time of the rough cut last year…sorry my man, we thought you knew!)

If you were at the convention, give us some tips on what we could do better next year. We had a few goofs and screws ups – I mean, misspelling “entertainment” on the flier is probably the most embarrassing gaffe I’ve ever been a part of (I HATE typos and the flier changed 12 times in 2 days because of all sorts of technical problems and about 8 people missed it and …. grrrrrrrrrrrrr) – but besides that, anything people especially enjoyed or not?

We about had a heart attack when the audio went out on the Vegas promo before the premiere of the new trailer. THANK YOU BILL STEPHENS!!!!
