Good start.
Look at the audience and not the screen(put laptop in front of you)
Put your hands to your side until using them for gestures.
If using that much information set it so it only appears a bullet point at a time, and start with an full slide image showing what you are trying to relate to then the copy/stats that back up the image.
Smile more.
Use more voice variety. Pace seemed good.

Good luck and keep practicing.

You did many things well but you want grows, here they are:

Never look at the screen rather position the laptop where it is easily seen by you away from the audience so you look toward them.
The type of presentation requires a lot of data, you can't help that, but use the graphics and words your your benefit even more than the audience. By having the whole lecture written out, you might as well put it on auto pilot and sit down. People can read faster then you can talk meaning they are focused less on you. What you bring is the human element to what many would consider a boring subject. Let them see your wonderful smile, hear inflection in your voice, and remember your message not the screen.
Best of luck. By joining and staying involved with Toastmasters will give you real advantage over the typical professional presenter. -Paul

I agree with Catherine's comments. I think Michelle can still improve her presentation. I hope this tips could help:
Speaking in public is not inherently stressful.
Don’t fear the fear. Don’t fight it.
Don’t put pressure on yourself to succeed:
- It’s not about you.
- You don’t have to be perfect or brilliant to succeed.
- You are not the only one with this problem.
Be yourself.
Don’t over-prepare or prepare in too much detail, but do rehearse if possible.
Make sure you have a message to share. Focus on your audience and on the message itself during your presentation.
Don’t believe something bad will happen.
Don’t think your audience does not want you to succeed.
Get practice to see firsthand that all the points above are true.

Recently, I made an effort to put up a comprehensive diagram for this, please take a look!

Thanks for the tips! I'll definitely try and work on those between now and the actual presentation, especially adding some enthusiasm to the topic.

Hi Michelle!

I thought the content of your speech was good and seemed to have some valid facts in it. I do have some suggestions for improvement...
     1. It was very difficult to hear you on the video. I had my computer speakers cranked up to full volume & could still barely hear you.
     2. The lamp in the foreground of your slides was distracting & not very helpful in lighting your slides
     3. I know the topic was a bit dry, but you did not show much enthusiasm for your topic. Enthusiasm of the speaker is one of the things that keeps an audience from falling asleep during a dry presentation. You should be (or at least act) excited about the information you're presenting.

It takes a lot of bravery to put your speech out on the Internet and ask for feedback. I applaud you for doing that. I also congratulate you on wanting to become a better public speaker. It's a skill that will serve you well in the future!

Good Luck!!!
